My name is Joan Sotkin and I have been doing business on the Internet since 1995 through www.ProsperityPlace.com where I market products, services, teleclasses, and a membership program.

I have also been helping people build a profitable online presence since 1997. I’ve have built sites and done marketing consultations for people in a wide variety of occupations.

My world really changed in mid-2008 when I finally decided to hop on to Facebook and Twitter. What fun they can be! They also provide lots of opportunities to make business connections and to grow a businesses.

I admit that at first, the whole social media environment overwhelmed me and I felt a bit vulnerable about putting myself out there. With the encouragement of friends, I dove in and am really glad I did.

My goal here is to introduce you to the world of social networking and to get you started. I’m sure some of you will want to learn more than just the basics and you’ll find some helpful information here.
